Campaign Manager

For over fifteen years, Margaret Henderson has been influencing policymakers in Washington, D.C. and around the country, first as a Congressional staff member and now as a political consultant focusing on issues impacting our oceans, marine fisheries and the commercial fishing community across the country.

Since 2005, Margaret has been a leading federal advocate on behalf of the Gulf Coast and national seafood communities, serving as Vice President, Government Relations for the National Fisheries Institute (2005 – 2009) and as Executive Director of the Gulf Seafood Institute (2013-2017), a trade association representing the entire Gulf of Mexico seafood supply chain, including fishermen, processors, distributors, restaurants and their customers.

Margaret provides public affairs consulting for a diverse suite of clients, including Cargill, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Gulf Oyster Industry Council, the Chesapeake Bay Seafood Industries Association, the Friends of the Fishermen Foundation, the Argos Alliance and CLS America, Inc., a global leader in satellite data communications. In 2018, Margaret assumed the role of Campaign Manager for Stronger America Through Seafood, Inc., an issue campaign promoting federal policies favorable to increased domestic production of all seafood.    Learn More
